NTN Explorer is a personal side project. This page explains what data is collected and how it's used. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them via the consent banner shown on first visit.
What data is collected
- Analytics — the site uses Google Analytics to see aggregate site usage (page views, referrers, general geographic region). It's loaded with consent denied by default; nothing is collected until you click Accept on the cookie banner. Details of the cookies Google Analytics sets and how Google processes the data are in Google's Analytics privacy notice.
- Session cookies — used only to keep you signed in after you enter the team password. No other first-party cookies are set.
- IP address — temporarily logged by the authentication endpoint to throttle repeated failed login attempts (rate limiting). Not persisted beyond that purpose.
- Server access logs — standard web server logs (timestamp, URL, user agent) are maintained by the hosting provider for operational purposes.
What is NOT collected
- No advertising cookies, ad networks, or third-party pixels
- No personally identifiable information beyond what's listed above
- No sale or sharing of your data — analytics data is used only for aggregate site improvement and is not sold, rented, or transferred to advertisers or data brokers
- No cross-site tracking or user profiling beyond standard GA4 aggregate reporting
Your choices
- Refuse analytics — click Reject on the cookie banner. Nothing is set and no events are sent.
- Change your mind later — clear this site's data in your browser to be re-prompted, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to block Google Analytics globally.
- Browser controls — most browsers let you block third-party cookies and JavaScript entirely. Doing so will not affect the educational content on this site.
Third-party content
The site embeds YouTube videos and links to external news articles and company websites. When you interact with those, the respective third party's privacy policy applies.
